As many of you know, I work at the front desk managing the
duties associated with record keeping, answering the phone and
keeping things neat and tidy in the studio. However, most would
agree that my most important duty is keeping the bowl full of
jelly beans. I began Pilates five years ago while receiving
physical therapy for a frozen shoulder. Once my rehabilitation
allowed me to move my shoulder again, my next step was to keep
it mobile so I enrolled in Pilates classes. I have been working
on the equipment and taking a mat class ever since. It is wonderful
to feel strong, to have improvement in my posture and to keep
normal weight. (If I avoid sampling the jelly beans while I
am filling the bowl.) I am also an accom-plished gardener. I
know that Pilates classes have enabled me to enjoy it more because
it has increased my strength and flexibility and has given me
more endurance.
