Shari Brookler: A native Californian,
manages her own Pilates studio in southern California.
She has been teaching Pilates since 2000 and has certifications
from both Center Studio and Body Arts and Science International.

Tishia Hicks: Tishia began dancing
at the age of 5 and has been involved in dance and related
movement fields ever since. She danced as a professional
ballet dancer throughout the United States and in Europe
over a span of twenty years. She began teaching ballet
during her performing years and continued teaching for
many years after the end of her performing career.

Mia Gleason was introduced to Pilates
in England where she did her mat training. This year she
did her reformer training with Balanced Body and is excited
to embark on her year long comprehensive Polestar training
in Santa Cruz . She also taught mat classes at the Christine
Holmes Academy for Performing Artists (working with youth
16-22) and aboard the MV Aurora.

Suzanne Sanger: is a certified Kripalu
Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Bodyworker, Pancha
Karma Specialist, and Reiki practitioner. She has also
studied and taught Kundalini Yoga, meditation and numerous
forms of dance, movement and athletics. Continuing with
her love of movement, Suzanne has recently completed her
Pilates Mat 1 and 2 trainings in September through Balanced
Body Univeristy. She is looking forward to teaching at
The Pilates Place starting in October.

Lisa Spang, Office Manager: As many
of you know, I work at the front desk managing the duties
associated with record keeping, answering the phone and
keeping things neat and tidy in the studio. However, most
would agree that my most important duty is keeping the
bowl full of jelly beans.

Liz Meyers, Front Desk: Born and raised
in California, Liz and her family came to Nevada County
in 2001 from the Bay Area. She was a Comparative Literature
major at UC Berkeley until her apartment burned down in
1975. After a long interlude away from UCB that included
marriage, raising daughters, working at home for her husband’s
plumbing firm, and doing accounting for attorneys and
engineers, Liz returned to CAL to finish her degree. She
obtained her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2000.
